DAY NINETEEN

5 of your favorite blogs and what you love about them


Although this is technically for yesterday, I missed this post and was bummed, so I'm doing it today! There are so many lovely blogs out there, and I know I have only scratched the surface in the blogosphere, but there are few that never let me down! 

1. Bavacious

 This one is probably obvious, but I really do love her blog and not just because she is one of my best friends! She always has great advice, recipes, outfits, etc. It's so fun to be connected with someone and share a hobby, it's a great conversation piece for us when the boys won't shut up about cars ;)

2. Cara Loren

 This girl is the reason I got in to blogging! One night I was Pinning away and stumbled on an outfit of hers, clicked on her blog, and ended up totally in love. She always has the most amazing outfits, not to mention her and her family are too fricken cute. 

3. McKenna Bleu

  I looove getting outfit inspiration from her! She uses color better than anyone I've seen, I wish I had her closet! 

4. Rylee Blake

 This is the second blog I stumbled upon and loved, most of the blogs I follow are all about fashion, and even though she talks fashion every once in a while, it's refreshing to read her thoughts on love, life, and happiness. Her and her husband are inspirational, not to mention she is also into design and I can totally relate :)

5. Pink Peonies

 I love when girls can take high fashion and bring it to a wear-everyday level! Although many of her pieces are way out of my price range, I get lots of inspiration from her outfits and find pieces more in my budget that get the same results!

DAY SEVENTEEN

A favorite photo of yourself and why

This is one of my favorite photos of myself not because of how I look, but because of the story behind it! This was taken on prom about 3 years ago. This is a super genuine smile from me, prom was one of the most amazing nights! I know thats super cliche, but my prom kicked ass. I went with one of my best friends, Connor, who I have known since 7th grade. We went with a small group of 10, we were all good friends and had such a great time with no drama or fuss! We knew a lot of people that went and had a stressful night because of drama and all that dumb high school crap, I am so thankful we didn't do any of that.

A day in the life

DAY TWELVE

What do you miss?

So, I skipped a couple days, my bad. I have been so crazy busy with school that I haven't even had time. I'm picking up here, on day 12.

 One of the things I really miss is my family's yearly trip to a little placed called Sun Lakes in eastern Washington. We went with multiple other families, spending the week jet skiing, swimming, boating, sunning, eating, cliff diving, and just having some serious fun! Even though the actual "cabins" we stayed in were super run down and gross, it was all a part if the fun and served as the center of discussion for many years. Nothing will ever compare to the countless inside jokes we all shared, the nights we slept under the stars, or the memories we made. After 14 years the tradition died out as the kids all grew up and life became too crazy. But I can't wait for the day I start bringing my own kids there and all of our families and build new memories!

Sun Lakes will always have such a special place in my heart, reminiscing and sharing stories is my favorite thing to do. My mother has been going through all of our photos lately to organize them and the best ones are all from our Sun Lakes trips! This is one of me cliff jumping in front of the WF 07' my brother painted with a few of the boys. WF stands for Windfest, a small inside joke, and unfortunately the boys had to paint over it the next day after the adults found out, had a laugh about it, and then realized it's state property haha.

DAY NINE

A moment in your day

This moment is from yesterday, my dad and I are working on building a portfolio cover for my work. We want to do something super fun and creative, so yesterday we were messing around with some prototypes. One of the ideas my dad has is to have my logo floating in glycerin between two pieces of clear plastic, so we experimented. The result was pretty awesome, but not quite what we wanted, so we put some dye in it just for fun! I love working with my dad and creating things, even if it's just silly.

DAY EIGHT

A piece of advice you have for others. Anything at all.

 One of the best pieces of advice I've heard comes from my High School teacher Mr. Jackson. He always told us "find what you love and make someone pay you for it!" Mr. Jackson emailed me last week to remind me of this and I am thankful that he did because it is reassuring to remember that although things can get tough, I've found what I love, I get paid to do it, and hopefully I can make a living at it!

DAY SEVEN

The thing(s) you're most afraid of

 There aren't a ton of things I'm afraid of, I am pretty comfortable with most things. But one thing that scares the crap out of me is the future, particularly related to my career. As a design major there are a million directions I could go, it is so hard to narrow it down a choose a focus. I try to keep calm and just work on what needs to be done for graduation and my last classes, but inside I am scared to death about leaping into the design world to find a job.

I guess when it comes down to it, you cant let fear still your funk.

I stole that quote from How I Met Your Mother. I'm not ashamed.

DAY SIX

If you couldn't answer with your job, how would you answer the question, 'what do you'?

Hmmm, what do I do... Well if I take this in a very literal way, I work, go to school, do homework, see my boyfriend, hang out with friends, blog, spend time with family, bake cupcakes. It seems like there are never enough hours in the day, like I have so many things to do. But it turns out I have a few things to do that happen to be wildly time consuming! I have a lot of focus on a few things, rather than a little focus on a million things.

Publicly profess your love and devotion for one of your blogger friends. What makes them great? Why do you love them?

It just so happens my only real blogger friend was first a real life friend! My girl Stephanie is the only one I connect with on a blogger level right now, she's the best! It's awesome to have someone around that understands all this crazy blog stuff I blabber about. Steph and I work together to improve and expand our blogs, those who blog together stay together, right?

This is hard for me to narrow down, I have some seriously good quotes stored up in my brain. But one of my favorites is ...

"Nothing in this world worth having comes easy"

Oddly enough I got this quote from an episode of Scrubs, but it's something I really believe in. I have heard it other places but this is the first place i heard it. I am a super hard worker and always give all of my effort in to things. I don't believe good things come to those who wait, I believe good things comes to those who go out and get what they want. Besides, if something good comes to you just for waiting, it's not going to be nearly as rewarding as something you worked hard for and earned.

DAY TWO

Educate us on something you know a lot about or are good at.

So when faced with this question not many things came to mind aside from baking cupcakes and graphic design, but that's boring and you guys already know about that. It's not that I suck at life or anything, I just don't have any blaring hidden talent...

 Except babies, I love babies and babies love me. I worked at my Aunt's daycare for a few summers in High School and I have a mild obsession with those little nuggets. I could just smooch them all day! Don't get it twisted, I don't need my own baby any time soon, but I'll love the crap out of other peoples babies. 

So there it is, I'm good at chillin with babies.
